Intospace delivers sustainable distribution center for DSV – developed for the future generation!
16 May, 2025A remarkable milestone in the heart of the Blue Banana: today marks the official completion of DSV’s new state-of-the-art distribution center at Aviation Valley – strategically located in one of Europe’s premier logistics hotspots.
Spanning approximately 36,500 m² of warehouse space, 6,350 m² of mezzanine, and 2,850 m² of office space, the building is designed not only to accommodate general cargo but also equipped for the storage of ADR-classified goods. It is a multifunctional and flexible facility, fully prepared to meet the logistics demands of tomorrow.
Sustainability at the core
This future-proof warehouse complies with strict ESG standards:
🔋 Energy label A++++
🌱 Built in accordance with BREEAM Excellent
⚡ Fully electric operations
🏗️ Constructed with XCarb low-carbon steel & CradleCore sandwich panels
☀️ Battery connection for efficient use of renewable energy
🏢 Triple glazing, EMS, green roofs, and grey water systems
🌿 Abundant natural daylight & landscaping integrated with the surroundings
A distinctive architectural feature is the “living skin” – a dynamic façade brought to life through greenery and movement. This was highlighted during the ceremony by Frank Kersten, Projects & Development Director at Intospace, along with the unique location within the Blue Banana – Europe’s economic powerhouse stretching from London to Milan.
Together with Barbara Klep, Managing Director of DSV Contract Logistics, Intospace CEO Tim Beckmann, General Contractor Wouters Schijndel, and all other project partners, we raised a glass to the completion of this exceptional distribution hub – a facility where today’s logistics meet the needs of future generations.
As a symbolic gesture to mark the handover, a glass key was presented during the ceremony: passed from Tim Beckmann (Intospace) to Barbara Klep (DSV) – a sign of access to a new chapter in sustainable logistics.
This milestone would not have been possible without the dedication and commitment of everyone involved. A special word of thanks goes to DSV Contract Logistics, Wouters Schijndel construction company, and Mulderblauw architects. Their shared expertise, passion, and collaboration made the realization of this project a success.
