Never out of Space(Cake)
10 June, 2026
Provada, June 10, 2026 – During a well-attended session at Provada, Tim Beckmann (intospace®) and Sander Ros (RoosRos Architecten), moderated by Wabe van Enk (PropertyNL), engaged in a conversation about the opportunities and challenges of multifunctional space use. Using the development in Zoetermeer as a case study, they explored how different functions can be combined in a smart, integrated, and future-proof way.
Sander emphasised that multifunctional space use goes far beyond simply stacking functions. It requires an approach in which working, living, recreation, and social interaction reinforce each other and collectively create greater value. Inspiring examples such as the Dutch Pavilion at the World Expo in Hanover and the historic Ponte Vecchio in Florence show that this way of thinking is not new, but can be further developed and strengthened.
The session sparked valuable discussions about the future of spatial use in the Netherlands, where pressure on available space continues to increase. The strong turnout underlined the relevance of the topic and the need for innovative solutions to ensure our cities, business environments, and living spaces remain future-proof.
